Alcoy, between Moors and Christians

You have to attend this celebration, from 22nd to 24th April, of Moors and Christians festivities in honour of Sant Jordi to discover the wonderful works of architecture that dot the city of Alcoy. Filaes or festive groups announce on Sunday the start of this Festivities declared of International Tourist Interest with its spectacular parades. The day 23rd is entirely dedicated to Sant Jordi and celebrated through the Procesión de la Reliquia, a religious event that brings together the protagonists of the Moors and Christians Festivities in honour of Sant Jordi. And on 24th April, Day of the Alardo or the Battle, the Embassies will parade through the main streets of the city.
