Informative meeting about the DELE in the Valencian Community

The talk about the Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera – DELE) took place in the CdT in Valencia.
Valencia. On last Thursday, 3rd of October, the first informative meeting about the Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) in the Valencian Community was organized in the installations of the Valencian Agency of Tourism. The informative meeting was directed to the people who are interested in getting to know more about the DELE that are given by the Instituto Cervantes in the name of the Spanish Ministry of Education. The value and necessity of these titles for the international community, especially for candidates, teachers and teaching institutions, as well as for companies and institutions, was explained during the conference.

The informative meeting was divided into two sessions, every session directed to a special audience, to offer the possibility to choose the topic of interest and take part in the corresponding session.
After presenting the schedule of the conference, the first part started at 10:30h and was coordinated by Manuel Villamayor, director of the Spanish Language School Costa de Valencia and coordinator of the DELE exams in Valencia for the FEDELE centers. The meeting started with a panel discussion about the DELE.  The first part, in general, informed about the necessity, the increasing value, the statistics and the characteristics of the DELE diplomas. It was directed to the experts and job counselors, the consultants for formation, the departments of human resources of companies, immigration associations and social workers.

The second part of the conference, that took place from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., was coordinated by Ana María Muñoz of the Department for Linguistic Certification of the Instituto Cervantes. The meeting informed about the new exam formats for receipt of the DELE B1 and B2 that were introduced for the first time in the exam date in August 2013. The new exams that were known as DELE Initial and Intermediate have changed in their structure and specifications. This session was especially directed to the teachers and professionals of teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
